These 11 Cafes have the best Coffee in Prague!
Since we visited Colombia’s Coffee Region, we love high-quality coffee and were surprised to find some of the best specialty coffees in Prague. In fact, Prague is an undercover coffee lover’s dream!
It is not a city that is well known for coffee. But there are a lot of excellent cafes in Prague serving high-quality coffee at a good price.
We did a 10-day housesit in Prague and each day began with a visit to a different cafe. In this blog post, you will find all the spots we think have the best coffee Prague has to offer. Enjoy!
Coffee in Prague is well-priced for its quality. Expect to pay 75 CK (3 USD) per cup ☕️ Most of the cafes we visited are laptop-friendly and have free wifi 👩💻
1. Version Coffee (Our favorite Cafe in Vinohrady)
Version Coffee is in Vinohrady, a hip residential area that I think has the best cafes in Prague. Vinohrady should also not be missed on your Prague itinerary.
The cafe is beautifully decorated and has different seating areas set up. You can either sit on sofas to relax or join one of the co-working tables on the opposite side.
We ordered a pour over coffee and it was excellent. It was full of flavour and the beans were perfectly roasted. In my opinion, it is the best cafe in Prague!
Tip: If you are looking for an area to stay in Prague I highly recommend Vinohrady. It is a beautiful area away from the tourist zone (but not too far out either) that has great restaurants and cafes. We did housesit there and loved it 💛
2. One Sip Cafe (Wins our award for best coffee Prague)
One Sip is the first cafe we visited in Prague because it was right next to our apartment. But it did not disappoint.
The coffee here is excellent and full of flavor. It is not over roasted and you can tell the beans have been carefully picked.
One Sip wins our award for the best coffee in Prague 🏆 It would be on number one but the seating area is less comfy than Version Cafe. I like to be relaxed while sipping my coffee.
But if this is not the case for you and you love specialty coffee then this is the place for you!
One Sip has two locations. The one in Vinohrady is nicely decorated and has a bigger seating area, whereas the one in Prague’s Old Town doesn’t. But both are excellent choices and you have some of the best coffee in Prague at each cafe ☕️
3. Mama Coffee
Mama Coffee is a chain of cafes in Prague that has 4 locations. We visited the location in Vinohrady (you can see we really love that area) and it was excellent.
The cafe is close to a busy main road but the outdoor area is super green and an oasis away from the city noises. On a nice day, I recommend sitting outside.
We ordered the batch brew which is a popular option at most cafes in Prague. The coffee had a nice chocolatey flavor. If you are looking for a solid coffee you will not be disappointed by Mama Coffee.

4. La Boheme (Great Cafe in Prague for Foodies)
La Boheme is another amazing cafe in Vinohrady with a super beautiful and unique interior. I especially liked the atmosphere there as it was different from the modern cafes that seem to have taken over in Prague and many other European cities.
The coffee is excellent and we heard that the food is supposed to be very good as it is a popular place for brunch. We didn’t get a chance to sample the pastries but they looked amazing as well.
The seating at La Boheme was very comfortable and it is a great place to unwind, relax with a coffee and people watch.

5. Super Tramp Coffee
Super Tramp has some of the best coffee in Prague’s Old Town that fits its name. To find the cafe you will have to walk down a sketchy and smelly alleyway 😅
It is not easy to find even with Google Maps! But you will see a run-down-looking alleyway when you are close. Walk it down, then turn left.
The cafe is in a courtyard surrounded by fairly dilapidated buildings. It reminded me of Berlin, where business owners turned a rundown old space into a trendy cool area.
We once again chose the batch brew, Prague’s signature coffee. It was very fruity and the beans had a nice medium roast.
I recommend Super Tramp Coffee if you are in the historic center and want a cafe hidden away from the busy streets with some of the best coffee Prague has to offer.
6. The Miners Coffee JZP (Perfect Cafe for Working)
The Miners Coffee is a cafe that has 3 locations in Prague. We visited the one in Vinohrady and it is well set up for working online with big tables, fast wifi and sockets. It had the vibe of a co-working space.
Unfortunately, that means that there is not much cozy indoor seating if you just want a coffee and a chat. But there is seating out on the street for that.
The 2 other locations of The Miners Coffee are in the Old Town and across the Charles Bridge. So if you are out sightseeing it is another solid caffeine option to stop for a rest.

7. Dos Mundos Coffee Roastery
Dos Mundos is a small cafe that focuses on sourcing coffee ethically from all over the world. It is a great place if you would like to get a specialty coffee and choose your own beans.
There is a small seating area and it is a great place to enjoy a coffee while in Vinohrady. It is also nice and quiet so it would be a good cafe to get some work done.

8. Coffee Cube Black
Coffee Cube Black is a little hole-in-the-wall cafe in the middle of Prague. It is an unassuming cafe but has some of the best coffee in Prague.
There are only a few seats on the footpath outside. So it is a good spot to sit and people-watch. We tried the batch brew here and it was excellent, once again. And it came served looking like a whiskey! 😅
In the reviews, people loved the flat whites. So if you like your coffee milky this is also a great option to try.

9. Kolacherie (Old Town Cafe with Czech Pastry)
Kolacherie is an awesome little cafe located next to the main square in Prague. The main attraction of coming to Kolacherie is to try a Kolache.
A Kolache is a traditional Czech pastry with a sweet filling. It can be filled with jam, custard, poppy seeds or cheese.
The most traditional that we tried is filled with sweet poppy seeds. We liked the pastry and it was nice to try something traditional with a good cup of coffee.
There is not much seating at Kolacherie. But it is a cute place to stop while sightseeing in town. It is not the type of cafe to lounge around or work at.

10. Cafedu
Cafedu is the best cafe in Prague if you are looking to work online. It is located next to the university so it is full of students working. It’s also close to Prague’s main train station.
The cafe was started by university students who wanted to provide a place for people to work. So if you are a digital nomad this is the place for you.
When we were at Cafedu it felt like 90% of people were working. So you will not feel any pressure to constantly buy anything and can just concentrate on your work.
On the contrary, it’s not a spot to unwind. It is not really a specialty coffee store but they have a big menu with great batch brews, americanos, lattes and snacks.

11. Letterpress Cafe
Letterpress Cafe is a cute little cafe hidden away in a quiet corner of Vinohrady. The cafe has a small seating area underneath old brick arches. It is not a place to work but to relax.
We ordered an americano and an expresso and both were excellent. The small space is beautifully decorated and it is a great spot to stop while exploring this part of Vinohrady.
Tip: Letterpress Cafe is close to the Grotta which is a cool man-made cave in the Grebovka Park. It’s a unique and interesting spot that you should visit while in Prague.

We were surprised by how many specialty cafes we found in Prague. To us, Prague is one of the most underrated affordable cities in Europe with high-quality coffee, that tastes as good as in Colombia’s Coffee Region.
I hope you enjoy sampling all the best coffee Prague has to offer. It is one of our favorite cities we have recently visited in terms of cafe hopping – but also overall! The price and quality of coffee but also restaurants are hard to beat and I am sure you will have a great time visiting.
